Create a free accountStudents graduating high school in 2027 earn entries into monthly drawings by completing steps in their free College Board BigFuture account: save careers, build a college list, save scholarships, strengthen your college list, complete the FAFSA, and apply to colleges. The drawings award $500 scholarships (45 winners a month, plus 45 more chosen from lower-income students) and $40,000 scholarships (one winner every two months, plus one more from lower-income students). There's no essay, test score, GPA or income requirement.
What you'll need to apply
- A College Board account, then complete steps on your BigFuture dashboard. Each step earns one entry
- Steps: save 3 careers (by November 30, 2026); build a list of 3 colleges; save 3 scholarships (July 1 to November 30); balance your college list with safety, match and reach schools (July 1 to October 31)
- Complete the FAFSA with a parent or guardian, or a state aid form (October 1 to November 30, 2026), and apply to at least 2 colleges (October 1 to November 30, 2026)
- Graduating high school in 2027 from a public, private or home school in the U.S. or its territories. Winners are chosen by random drawing, and the FAFSA and college application steps need proof of submission
