Georgia residents working toward a certificate or diploma at a technical college (or an approved University System of Georgia program) get an award equal to the standard undergraduate tuition rate per credit hour, for up to 15 hours a term. There's no high school GPA minimum, but you have to keep a 3.5 college GPA at the end of each term, and the grant stops after 63 semester hours.

What you'll need to apply

  • Proof of enrollment or acceptance: A certificate or diploma program approved for HOPE at a Georgia technical college or eligible University System of Georgia school
  • Minimum GPA 3.5 (Postsecondary GPA at the end of each term, to keep it (no high school GPA minimum))
  • Georgia legal resident and a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen. The grant ends after 63 semester hours
