Complete a term of national service with AmeriCorps and you earn an education award worth $7,395 for a full-time term in 2026 (the same as the maximum Pell Grant) to pay for college or technical school, or to repay qualified student loans. You can earn up to two awards and have seven years to use them.

What you'll need to apply

  • Complete an approved AmeriCorps term of service: 1,700 hours for full-time, or 365 days for VISTA
  • Finish the term within 12 months
  • Pays for college or technical school or repays qualified student loans. You can earn up to two awards and have seven years to use each
