A grant for students at one of 11 participating independent Alabama colleges, including Samford, Huntingdon, Faulkner, Spring Hill, Miles, Oakwood, Stillman and the University of Mobile. It isn't need-based, and awards of up to $3,000 an academic year vary with funding. You apply on the form from the financial aid office at the college you plan to attend, which prints the deadline.
What you'll need to apply
- Alabama Student Grant Program application (the commission posts the 2026-27 form), returned to the financial aid office of the participating college you plan to attend
- Proof of enrollment or acceptance: An eligible independent Alabama college: Amridge, Faulkner, Huntingdon, Miles, Oakwood, Samford, Spring Hill, South University (Montgomery), Stillman, U.S. Sports Academy or the University of Mobile
- Not need-based. Awards can't exceed $3,000 a year and vary with funding. The commission's page lists no residency, GPA or income rule, so ask the college's financial aid office what applies
The sponsor's page only listed some of what's needed, so this list may be missing items and the effort score may be higher than the real work. Requirements can change each cycle. Confirm them on the sponsor's page before you apply.
