Every state Department names a baseball scholarship winner who gets $500, eight American Legion World Series honorees get an extra $2,500, and one All-Academic Team member takes home an additional $5,000. You have to be part of American Legion Baseball to qualify.

What you'll need to apply

  • Nomination required: Nominated by a team manager or head coach
  • 3 recommendation letters: One-page letters from a Legion coach, a post commander or adjutant, and a community leader
  • Transcript: Official high school transcript
  • Certification form, due by July 15
  • Played on an American Legion post team and graduated from high school
